The minutes of the February 12 meeting were accepted as corrected.

Treasurer’s Report – Accepted as presented.

New Business:

Mr. Libby provided an update on the Search Committee progress. There is a short list of candidates that are being reviewed. Phone interviews are being conducted. Committee members will be making visits to possible candidates in the next two months.

Rev. Ruth Partlow will check on possible weeknight dates for the Vestry retreat. Mrs. Barnes will be leading the retreat and providing information on doing interviews with rector candidates.

The Vestry extended a warm welcome to its new members, Mrs. Mary Meade Edwards, Mrs. Molly McClellan, and Mr. Sam Shield. The installation of the entire Vestry will be held on April 13. Recognition was also extended to the retiring Vestry members, Mr. Libby and Mrs. Lancaster. The Vestry extended their heartfelt thanks for all their hard work and support of Johns Memorial.

Mr. Lee Minix was appointed Treasurer. Mrs. Sarah Southall was appointed Register.

Mr. Butler nominated, and Mrs. Southall seconded, the election of Mrs. Molly McClellan as Senior Warden and Mrs. Mary Meade Edwards as Junior Warden. The motion passed. Vestry members were assigned to head the following Committees: Christian Formation, Mr. Hlad, New members and Parish life, Ms. Gallagher, Outreach, Mr. Mayton, Pastoral care, Mrs. Kemner, Stewardship, Mr. Shield, Worship, Mr. Butler, Youth and Young Adults, Mrs. Southall.

The Council will elect a new Bishop. Council will be held September 27 and October 19. The Bishop’s consecration will be held in February. The Partlows will be providing an Adult Education class at 9:30 on Sundays, starting after Easter, on the Bishop election process.

Rev. Ruth Partlow reported that the Diocese wrote to thank Johns Memorial for increasing its pledge. The Parochial report will be finished shortly.

Old Business:

Rev. Bob Partlow stated that Mrs. Barbara Henley is reviewing the endowment policy.

Mr. Libby and Mrs. Lancaster reviewed the 2008 budget with the new Vestry members. An additional $2000 was allocated to the seminary line, and up to $5000 for the new rector’s moving expenses. This budget should allow some leeway to cover the costs of the new rector.

Rev. Ruth Partlow will email a draft of the Wedding policy manual to the Vestry, as well as put copies of the draft in their mailboxes.

The Partlows asked Mr. Bill Smith to consider volunteering for the Head Usher position.

Special thanks were again extended to Mr. Libby and Mrs. Lancaster for their hard work and support as Vestry members.

The meeting adjourned at 7:30pm after Compline.

Respectfully submitted,

Sarah P. Southall, Register
