The
Agape Meal
Members of both the local community and the parish gathered in the Parish Hall to
celebrate the Agape Meal. Agape, translated from Greek, means "love," and
the Agape Meal gives the community an opportunity to gather in fellowship to share a meal
and the love of Christ. The evening began with a Eucharistic service led by
Father Tracy and gave a homily about Christ's last days. Included in the service is
the washing of the hands symbolizing Christ's actions when he washed the feet of his
Disciples.

Following communion, the dinner was served featuring foods that we
believe Christ enjoyed with his Disciples during the Last Supper. The menu
included lamb, grilled chicken, curried fruit, wild rice, peas, and unleavened bread.
I hope those that attended enjoyed this special dinner. I also hope
that those who were unable to come will consider making this meal apart of
their Lenten tradition next year.
