Interesting Facts

*The Rev. Arthur Seldon Lloyd was consecrated in 1909 as the Bishop Coadjutor for the Diocese of Virginia.  His listed consecrators included:  Presiding Bishop Daniel S. Tuttle, Bishop George W. Peterkin, First Bishop of the Diocese of West Virginia, and Bishop Alfred M. Randolph, First Bishop of the Diocese of Southern Virginia.  "Bishop Lloyd served only 14 months as Bishop Coadjutor in Virginia before he resigned to assume the Presidency of the Board of Missions of the Episcopal Church, an organization that he had earlier served as secretary.  He served in that capacity for the next 10 years of his life, and then was elected in 1921 as Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese of New York" (San Joaquin Website).

** The Rev. Jean A. Vaché’s son, The Rt. Rev. C. Charles Vaché, was later named Seventh Bishop of the Diocese of Southern Virginia serving from 1978-1991 (Raper and Jones).
