“Praise God from whom all blessings flow…”
The comforting and familiar words of the doxology that we sing each week are a reminder that all that we are and all that we have comes from a gracious God. The stewardship of those gifts is a critical part of living out our faith and our commitment to God in thankful and joyful response to God’s generosity.
As we give of our substance, we discover manifold abundance. We learn that there is more than enough. Stewardship reflects the spirit of gracious living. It is about fully giving who you are and what you have. And the end result is a life of vibrant love for God and others, a life that the Gospel of John says marks us as followers of Christ (John 13:35).
Each member of the Johns Memorial family is asked to give back to this parish through time, talent, and treasure. All of your gifts are treasures and enrich this community of saints in countless ways. Through other places on this website, you have the opportunity to learn how best to contribute your time and talent. As you become engaged in the life of this parish, we trust that you will support our mission and ministries through a financial pledge to the annual operating budget. As the Gospel of Matthew reminds us, “where your heart is, there your treasure will be also” (6:21). So too, your financial gift to Johns Memorial Church is in part a reflection of your relationship with God, an offering of yourself in response to God’s extravagant love.
Please prayerfully consider what God is calling you to do, and make your pledge soon, so that the many programs and ministries of our church can continue to flourish. While an annual pledge-ingathering is conducted in the Fall, pledge cards are available throughout the year, and may be placed in the offering plate.
